Sponsors & Friends of Milk Matters

Every drop counts. Every cent counts. Every Supporter counts.

The sponsorship and donations made by the companies, groups and individuals below make it possible for Milk Matters to provide the life-line of screened, pasteurised donor breastmilk to premature babies in Intensive Care Units.

Thank you! Your support is saving lives.

Sponsors & Funders

Thank you to all our sponsors and funders:

PathCare

Pathcare

The initial testing of all our breastmilk donors for HIV and Hepatitis B is sponsored by PathCare.  Each Milk Matters breast milk donor undergoes screening for HIV and Hepatatis B as part of the initial screening process, and having the costs of these blood tests covered by Pathcare makes a big difference.

Thank you, Pathcare, for your loyal support for many years.

Nedbank logo

Nedbank Foundation

Thank you to the Nedbank Foundation which has made a donation in order to boost Milk Matters’ awareness campaign  with the aim of increasing the number of mothers donating, the amount of milk received by Milk Matters and therefore the number of babies who receive the life-line of donor breastmilk.

Thank you, Nedbank Foundation, for your support of  Milk Matters and of the tiny, vulnerable premature babies we serve.

.Dis-chem logo

Dis-Chem Pharmacies

Dis-Chem Pharmacies have come on board to help decrease costs by offering a substantially discounted rate to registered Milk Matters donors who need to have a rapid HIV test. Dis-Chem absorbs the consultation fee cost and only charges for the consumables needed to do the test.

After the initial blood test screening, donors need to have a rapid HIV test every three months.

Thank you, Dis-Chem, for your support.

The Carl and Emily Fuchs Foundation

As part of the Fuchs Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Project, The Carl and Emily Fuchs Foundation is one of the co-funders of The Growing Milk Matters – Saving Babies Project.

The Growing Milk Matters – Saving Babies Project is aimed at putting measures in place to expand services and to:

  • increase the number of babies with access to donor breastmilk, with the decreased morbidity and mortality rates the use of donor breastmilk brings
  • increase breastfeeding support for both health professionals and mothers in state neonatal units so as to improve breastfeeding rates in these units

Thank you to the Carl and Emily Fuchs Foundation for affording Milk Matters the opportunity to be part of the Fuchs Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Project and for funding that was given to Milk Matters.

The Children’s Hospital Trust

The Growing Milk Matters – Saving Babies Project ran from 2016 – 2019 and was aimed at putting measures in place to expand services and to:

  • increase the number of babies with access to donor breastmilk, with the decreased morbidity and mortality rates the use of donor breastmilk brings
  • increase breastfeeding support for both health professionals and mothers in state neonatal units so as to improve breastfeeding rates in these units

Thank you to The Children’s Hospital Trust for the big investment you made in Milk Matters during this project.

When Milk Matters told me that preemies needed just 50ml a day to survive and I was feeding my son breastmilk all day long, I wanted to help and knew I could.
